The Palau d'Esports in Granollers hosted the official presentation of the Granollers Cup 2026 this Wednesday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. The international youth handball tournament will once again bring together thousands of young athletes from around the world in the capital of the Vallès Oriental.
This year’s edition will feature 374 teams from 24 countries, competing at sports facilities in Granollers, Les Franqueses del Vallès and Canovelles. In total, the tournament will bring together more than 6,000 players. In terms of team distribution, the Granollers Cup 2026 will include 164 women’s teams and 210 men’s teams, once again establishing itself as one of the leading international competitions in youth handball.
During the presentation event, the president of BM Granollers, Alfred Serra, highlighted the importance of the competition for both the club and the city, as well as its contribution to the participants’ overall experience and enjoyment.
For his part, the director of the Granollers Cup, Pol Blanchart, emphasized the tournament’s sporting quality, the commitment to a more attractive village, and the sustainability initiatives that have become one of the competition’s defining features.
Finally, the mayor of Granollers, Alba Barnusell, underlined the importance of the Granollers Cup for the city, both in terms of its impact on the social fabric and its contribution to local economic and business activity.
Beyond the competition itself, the Granollers Cup 2026 will once again feature a Village full of activities, music and a festive atmosphere, designed so that players, teams, families and visitors can also enjoy the tournament experience off the court.
